Minju Joson is the organ of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

The newspaper made its first appearance on June 4,1946.

President Kim Il Sung personally gave its title.

Its history has been adorned with the glorious annals in which it has made progress under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Over the past seven decades since the issue of its initial number carrying the image of the President and his congratulatory message, it has followed a proud road of development under the warm care and wise leadership of the peerlessly great persons.

Chairman Kim Jong Il, since the day of his first visit to the Minju Joson Offices in company with President Kim Il Sung and the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk, paid close attention to developing the newspaper into a powerful mouthpiece for the DPRK government’s stand.

He made sure that a modern building and a printing house were built and led it to make steady development.

Today, Minju Joson is greeting a fresh heyday of its development under the sagacious guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

It gives wide publicity to the outstanding ideas and policies on the State building put forward by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in every period and at every stage of the developing revolution and the lines and policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and dynamically mobilize the masses of people to implement them, thereby making contributions to further cementing the people’s government and enhancing its functions and role and building up the State and social system.

Along with the glorious history of its development, it will creditably perform its mission and duty in the drive to build a socialist power under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
