There is an unforgettable event which pushed me onto the road of supporting the army.
Two years ago, I was invited to the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army.
While watching a grand military parade which summed up the 90-year history of the powerful revolutionary army filled with great victories and glory, I realized keenly how the country’s security is defended and the people’s happiness is guaranteed.
What impressed me more was that all those who were invited to the celebrations were patriots who had devoted themselves at their workplaces to hasten the prosperous future of the country with labour feats and supported the army with pure conscience and sense of obligation.
Their spiritual world was much loftier than mine.
When I had a photo session with the respected Comrade
Kim Jong Un together with them, I hardened my resolve to live like them.
With this resolve, I started to support the army.
The first place I visited on the road of supporting the army was the post on Mt Taedok, where the slogan of “a match for a hundred” was put forward. Then I visited various other posts like that on an island.
In April my family and I prepared the flags of the Republic on the occasion of a founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army and sent them, together with aid materials, to the soldiers on the Dwarf-Pine Post which is closely associated with the immortal revolutionary activities of Chairman
Kim Jong Il.
But my efforts pale in comparison with the sincerity of other citizens of this country who have long devoted their all to supporting the army.
Whenever I prepare aid materials for KPA soldiers, my mother would say with delight that another trait has been created in our family.
I think what she said represents an earnest request of the preceding generation to regard army supporting as an expression of patriotism and carry on it.
Cherishing this request in my mind, I harden my resolve to inherit the spirit of supporting the army as a family trait.
