The groundbreaking ceremony for building 10 000 flats at the third stage in the Hwasong area took place on February 23 in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, attended the ceremony and personally pressed the detonator, signaling the start of the project.
The roaring sound of explosion reverberated in all parts of the country.
The sound of explosion has resounded every year since the project to build 50 000 flats in Pyongyang was launched according to the plan of building the capital city advanced at the Eighth Congress of the WPK.
Along with the groundbreaking ceremony for building 10 000 flats at the first stage in the Hwasong area, the sound of explosion signaling another project was the same as ever in every February.
The sound carries the long-cherished desire of the WPK that is committed to keeping a promise it has made with the people and orienting everything towards their convenience and well-being.
In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the first-stage project to build 50 000 flats in Pyongyang, Kim Jong Un said that building 50 000 modern flats in Pyongyang was something the WPK had long intended, prepared and aspired to, in order to provide its citizens with more cultured and stable living conditions.
And in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for a project to build 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area, he said that if the goal of building 50 000 flats in Pyongyang was attained with success, the Party would have fulfilled the most important promise it had made to the people.
The WPK regards realizing the people’s dreams and ideals as its supreme goal and plan in its activities; each policy for realizing them has been kept as a promise with them.
Even though the conditions and circumstances at present are more challenging than ever before, the WPK, which regards it as its creed to achieve without fail anything the people want to be done, formulated it as a policy to build 50 000 flats in Pyongyang at its Eighth Congress, and thus the promise the Party made to the people has been exactly fulfilled year after year.
Thanks to the sincere efforts of the WPK, the people has heard the sound of explosion, signaling the start of a project to build 10 000 flats in every February, and witnessed the punctual result of people getting new houses for free every April.
The sound of explosion in February and the scene of house-moving in April have become part of life and emotion unique to our Republic.
