The Paeksang Pavilion was built in the period of Koryo dynasty as the northern commanding post of the Anju Fort in Anju City, South Phyongan Province, and rebuilt in the mid-18th century.
It has been known as one of the eight scenic spots in the northwestern part of Korea since olden times.
The name Paeksang Pavilion means a pavilion that commands a hundred sights.
It is a precious cultural heritage which gives a glimpse of the high architectural skills and creative talents of the Korean ancestors.
