April 15, Juche 43 (1954) was the birthday Premier Kim Il Sung had to mark for the first time after the victorious Fatherland Liberation War.
Officials were busy preparing for his birthday spread.

Kim Il Sung asked them to give up their preparations, adding that he would not receive his birthday spread as usual.

Kim Il Sung came to know the fact and called them on April 14, the day before his birthday, and said: People are undergoing trials, and how can I receive my birthday spread in my capacity as the Premier. If you continue making the preparations, I will not go to my office room tomorrow but go far away.
Early on the morning of April 15, his birthday, he set out on his field guidance trip for a rural village by car, as he had told them the previous day.
Walking along rugged paths of the farm, he indicated the road ahead of the farm to its officials.
Having talks with its farmers unceremoniously, he gave them valuable teachings to develop vegetable farming and animal husbandry, create orchards and fish ponds, and solve the housing problem.
